St. Augustine Shores is a popular neighborhood among first time home buyers, families, and retirees and I’m going to tell you why.
Today we are talking about St. Augustine Shores and what it has to offer and why home buyers are attracted to the area.
St. Augustine Shores is a large community that runs along the Intracoastal waterway. When the development began in the late 60’s they planned the community very well, leaving many native trees to keep the character of the neighborhood and setting aside 100 acres for parks and recreational areas which today offers the residents over 50 miles of walking paths to enjoy, access to the Riverview with a pool, kiddie park, picnic area, game room, a pier for fishing or to watch sunrise and sunset and there is a also a golf course within the community.
Home buyers love the Shores because it’s always been an affordable area to buy in and the HOA fees are only $30 a month.
You will find starter homes, mid-size, and even new construction within The Shores. Now prices have gone up in the past few years but you can still find a solid home for under $300k and fixer uppers in the low to mid $200’s.
There are also neighborhoods within this community that offer larger houses and bigger lots priced in the $350k to $450k range.
If you are looking for low maintenance living, no problem, there are a number of condo communities within The Shores offering 2 bedroom units for $150k to $200k. These communities have their own HOA though and fees vary from $300 to $370 a month.
The Shores is a large community about 15-20 minutes south of the historic district and about 15 minutes to Crescent Beach. There has been commercial development along US 1 and south of the shores so you never have to drive to far for anything and you can find some wonderful restaurants and shopping near by.
This community is wonderful option for all types of buyers and is definitely worth considering if you are looking to move to the area.
